Membership & Payments
1.1. Membership in the Arizona Outdoors Club (“Organization”) is available only to individuals who are 18 years or older and are either current Arizona State University students (including ASU Online) or ASU alumni within the past five years, and who complete the registration process and pay the required membership fee.
1.2. All membership payments are final and non-refundable.
1.3. Membership is a privilege, not a right, and may be suspended or terminated at the discretion of the Organization for unsafe conduct, violation of these Terms, or behavior inconsistent with the goals of the Organization.
User Submissions (Trip Suggestions)
2.1. Members may suggest trips or events through the Organization’s website.
2.2. All submissions are subject to officer review prior to posting. The Organization reserves the right to edit, decline, or remove any submission at its sole discretion.
2.3. Submission of a trip suggestion does not guarantee approval or posting.
Prohibited Conduct
3.1. Members and users of this website agree not to:
3.1.1. Engage in unlawful, unsafe, or disruptive behavior during any event or activity.
3.1.2. Misrepresent affiliation with the Organization.
3.1.3. Harass, threaten, or endanger other members, officers, or third parties.
3.1.4. Misuse or damage club property, gear, or resources.
Third-Party Links
4.1. Trip descriptions or event postings may contain links to external websites, such as Google Forms, retailers, or informational resources.
4.2. These links are provided for convenience only. The Organization does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party websites.
Payments & Processing
5.1. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
5.2. The Organization does not store or have access to full payment card details.
5.3. By submitting payment, you agree to be bound by Stripe’s terms of service and privacy policy.
Termination
6.1. The Organization reserves the right to suspend or terminate a member’s account, website access, or participation in activities at any time and for any reason, with or without notice.
6.2. Membership fees are non-refundable, and no refunds will be issued in the event of suspension or termination.
6.3. Suspension or termination may occur, but is not limited to, cases of unsafe conduct, violation of these Terms, or behavior inconsistent with the mission of the Organization.
Relationship to Release & Waiver of Liability
7.1. These Terms govern website use, membership, and general conduct.
7.2. Participation in any activity, event, or trip organized by the Organization is additionally subject to the Release and Waiver of Liability, which remains fully binding.
SMS Communications
8.1. By opting in to receive SMS text messages from the Arizona Outdoors Club, you agree to receive automated transactional messages regarding trip status, account updates, and event confirmations.
8.2. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of membership or purchase.
8.3. Message frequency varies.
8.4. Message and data rates may apply.
8.5. Opt-out: You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive.
8.6. Help: For assistance, reply HELP to any message you receive or contact us at.
8.7. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Governing Law
9.1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Release and Waiver of Liability

You are required to read this entire waiver carefully and ensure you understand its terms before signing.
DEFINITIONS
In this Release and Waiver of Liability (“Release”), “Organization” refers to the Arizona Outdoors Club and its officers, directors, trip leaders, volunteers, and representatives. “Activities” refers to any and all activities, events, trips, excursions, programs, or services organized, sponsored, or led by the Organization.
ELIGIBILITY
I certify that I am at least 18 years of age. I understand that participation in the Activities is not permitted for individuals under 18 years old.
ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK
I am aware and understand that the Activities may be inherently dangerous and may expose me to a variety of foreseen and unforeseen hazards and risks. I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in the Activities and have considered those risks. I hereby expressly and specifically assume such risks, including any and all risk of injury, harm, or loss that I may incur as a result of my participation in the Activities.
WARRANTY OF PHYSICAL FITNESS
I hereby warrant that I am physically fit and in a condition that will allow me to participate fully in the Activities. I maintain medical insurance that covers me for accidents and illnesses while I am participating in the Activities. I understand that the Organization has not made, nor will it make, any investigation into my physical fitness or ability to participate in the Activities, and the Organization is relying on my warranty of my physical condition.
MEDICAL TREATMENT
I hereby give consent and authority to the Organization to obtain medical treatment on my behalf if I am injured or require medical attention during my participation in the Activities. I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for all costs related to such medical treatment, medical transportation, and/or evacuation. I hereby release, forever discharge, and hold harmless the Organization from any claim whatsoever in connection with such treatment or other medical services.
GEAR RENTAL LIABILITY
I understand that the Organization may provide gear or equipment for rent or use during the Activities. I acknowledge and agree that the Organization makes no warranties regarding the condition, suitability, or safety of such gear or equipment. I accept full responsibility for inspecting any gear or equipment before use and assume all risks associated with its use, including the risk of equipment failure or malfunction. I expressly release and discharge the Organization from any liability for injuries, damages, or losses arising from or related to the use of such gear or equipment. I understand and agree that theft, willful destruction, or failure to return any gear or equipment provided by the Organization will result in immediate termination of my membership without refund. I further acknowledge that I may be held financially responsible for the full replacement value of any lost or stolen gear.
RELEASE AND WAIVER
I hereby fully and forever release and discharge the Organization from, and expressly waive, any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, that may arise from my participation in the Activities. I covenant not to make or bring any such claim or demand against the Organization, and fully and forever release and discharge the Organization from liability under such claims or demands.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS RELEASE DISCHARGES THE ORGANIZATION FROM ANY LIABILITY OR CLAIM THAT I MAY HAVE WITH RESPECT TO ANY BODILY INJURY, PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR PROPERTY LOSS THAT MAY RESULT FROM THE ACTIVITIES, WHETHER CAUSED BY THEIR NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THE ORGANIZATION DOES NOT ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR OR OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OR OTHER ASSISTANCE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MEDICAL, HEALTH, OR DISABILITY INSURANCE OF ANY NATURE IN THE EVENT OF MY INJURY, ILLNESS, OR DEATH, OR DAMAGE TO OR LOSS OF MY PROPERTY.
INDEMNIFICATION
I hereby agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Organization from any and all liability, losses, damages, judgments, or expenses, including attorneys’ fees, that it may incur or sustain as a result of my negligence, recklessness, or willful misconduct in connection with my participation in the Activities, arising out of any third-party claim.
PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE
I understand and agree that during the Activities, I may be photographed and/or videotaped by the Organization for internal and/or promotional use. I hereby grant and convey to the Organization all right, title, and interest, including but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits, in any and all such photographs or recordings, and consent to the Organization’s use of my name, image, likeness, and voice in perpetuity, in any medium or format, for any publicity without further compensation or permission.
MISCELLANEOUS
I hereby agree that this Release represents the full understanding between the Organization and me and supersedes all other prior agreements, understandings, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, between us, with respect to the subject matter hereof. If any term or provision of this Release shall be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, that term or provision shall be deemed modified so as to be valid and enforceable to the full extent permitted. The invalidity of any such term or provision shall not otherwise affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining terms and provisions. This Release is binding on and inures to the benefit of the Organization and me and our respective heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors, and permitted assigns. Section headings are for convenience of reference only and shall not define, modify, expand, or limit any of the terms of this Release.
GOVERNING LAW
I hereby agree that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted, and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without reference to any choice of law doctrine.
BY CHECKING THE BOX, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS RELEASE AND THAT I AM VOLUNTARILY GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE THE ARIZONA OUTDOORS CLUB AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, TRIP LEADERS, VOLUNTEERS, AND REPRESENTATIVES
