DESCRIPTION:Grand Canyon Trip (South Rim)\n30 Jan – 1 Feb \nDay 1 (30 Jan)\n\nLeave ASU Performing and Media Arts (in Trader Joe’s lot) at 2:00 PM\nArrive at Grand Canyon East Entrance around 6:00 PM\nNo ranger checks after 6:00 PM at this entrance\nStop for dinner\nDispersed camping for the night (outside GCNP)\n\nDay 2 (31 Jan)\nWake up and enter Grand Canyon South Rim \n\nMather Point\nYavapai Point + Geology Museum\nRim Trail to Grand Canyon Village\nBright Angel Trail (short hike)\nHermit Road viewpoints (sunset)\n\nApprox walking Day 1: 5–6 miles total \nCamp again at dispersed camping (Optional) \nDay 3 (1 Feb) (Optional)\nOptional morning Grand Canyon visit (short hikes / scenic spots) \nOtherwise start return trip \nReturn to Tempe by 4:00 PM or earlier \nImportant (Read This)\nAs of Jan 1\, 2026\, all international visitors must pay $100 per person. We will try to avoid this by entering after 6pm at the less popular gate. This might be avoidable with an America the Beautiful pass purchased last year.
