SUMMARY:Chiricahua National Monument Hiking\, Carcamping\, Stargazing
DESCRIPTION:Join us on a trip to the Chiricahua National Monument\, also known as the “Wonderland of Rocks\,” located in southeastern Arizona. We’ll leave Tempe at 8:00 a.m.\, set up camp\, and explore the area in the afternoon. The area is ideal for wildlife observation\, with populations of a wide variety of animals\, such as the rare Mexican spotted owl\, turkeys\, foxes\, and coatis. The Chiricahua Mountains are also renowned as stargazing location and home to some of the world’s largest telescopes. Since our trip is shortly after the new moon\, we will experience spectacularly dark night skies.
