SUMMARY:White Mountains Backpacking
DESCRIPTION:We’re headed on a beautiful backpacking trip to the White Mountains near Greer\, Arizona! This is an easy beginner’s backpacking trip on the eastern edge of Arizona\, with incredible mountain views and rivers along the entire trail. The trail is relatively short and flat\, and is a great backpacking trip for first-timers! We will leave Tempe from the ASU Performing and Media Arts Building in the Trader Joe’s parking lot at 8AM on Saturday. Then\, we will hike out 2.5 miles to the end of the trail\, setting camp near the river and enjoying a cozy night under the stars. It will be cold at night\, so bring several layers! On Sunday morning\, we will hike back to the trailhead then drive back to Tempe\, returning around 6PM. You can expect beautiful spring wildflowers\, wild strawberries along the trail\, and lots of crystal-clear water.
