SUMMARY:Picket Post Mountain Day Hike
DESCRIPTION:This will be a more challenging day hike rated on AllTrails as Hard to Strenuous. There will be lots of incline and some sketchy trail sections that have been described as class 3 scrambles (1 being the easiest\, 5 the hardest). These scramble sections have been described as other hikers as “not too exposed”\, but if you have a fear of heights that can’t be controlled\, maybe don’t do this one. It is a 4.2 mile out and back hike with an elevation gain of ~2000 ft. I would NOT recommend doing this for your first/first few hikes. I myself am expecting this to be challenging. However\, if you have done some moderately strenuous hikes before with similar statistics as this one\, I think it will be a fun challenge. You will need to have good hiking shoes that have real traction\, plenty of water (probably double what you think you need)\, lunch preferably packed with you to eat at the summit\, and a very positive attitude. Picacho Peak is a good prerequisite for this hike\, but Picket Post will probably be harder. On the bright side\, there is a really cute mailbox at the peak that has a register and souvenir collection we can add to! \nHere is a good video showing some of the hikes terrain and scrambles for reference! \nhttps://www.tiktok.com/@sassysalsaaa/video/7582409511906954510?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7517858290845615629 \nCLICK TO SIGN UP
